Hi, Iām audra cooper.
Hello, and welcome! I'm Audra, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and the founder of Let's Talk Therapy. With a passion for empowering individuals to navigate life's challenges, I specialize in mental health, trauma, and addictions. With years of experience in the field, I've dedicated myself to providing compassionate and effective therapy to those in need. My approach is grounded in empathy, understanding, and evidence-based practices tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual. At Let's Talk, my mission is to create a safe and supportive space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences and embark on a journey of healing and growth.
My Approach
In my practice, I embrace the core values and principles outlined by the National Association of Social Workers. Grounded in these values, my approach to therapy integrates the NASW's pillars of social work: service, social justice, dignity and worth of the person, importance of human relationships, integrity, and competence. I believe in the inherent worth and dignity of every individual and strive to create a safe and inclusive space where clients feel valued and respected. Through compassionate service and advocacy, I am committed to promoting social justice and empowering marginalized populations. Central to my work is the cultivation of meaningful human relationships, as I believe in the transformative power of genuine connection and support. With integrity and cultural competence, I aim to uphold the highest ethical standards and ensure my clients receive the best possible care. By incorporating these principles into my practice, I am dedicated to fostering positive change and facilitating the journey toward healing and empowerment.
My training
I received my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at the University of Arkansas Fort Smith and received my Masters of Social Work from the University of Arkansas Little Rock.
I have worked several years in a residential and outpatient setting focusing primarily with substance use. This gave me a unique opportunity to learn to work well with those who are in crisis. In addition to substance use, I worked with clients with various mental health issues including PTSD, anxiety, depression, grief and bereavement, and personality disorders.
I have extensive training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy that is focused on embracing thoughts and emotions. I have specialized training in treating trauma using Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I also have specialized training in Emotional Focused Therapy and am a certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (ADC).
